Naturaleza migrante

Serie del proyecto Sonidos Migrantes. Fantasmas sonoros en la ruta migrante de La Bestia, dentro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte 2023-2025.

En uno de los puntos finales de la ruta migrante en «La Bestia» se encuentra Ciudad Juárez. Allí, cada viajero intenta cruzar la frontera bajo la presencia de la Guardia Nacional de los EE. UU. La mezcla de sonidos y el paisaje es contrastante: mientras se escuchan los pájaros, el viento y el río, también se oye el llanto de una niña frente a la guardia, con su padre a su lado, la espalda ensangrentada por cruzar la cerca de alambre de púas. Al otro lado, una familia con varios niños intenta negociar con el oficial estadounidense para que les permita pasar.

En esta instalación, se proyectan videos e imágenes que muestran la interacción de la naturaleza y los migrantes con la Guardia Nacional de los EE. UU. Alrededor del espectador, cuatro altavoces crean el paisaje sonoro del momento.

One of the final points of the migrant route on «La Bestia» is Ciudad Juárez. There, each traveler tries to cross the border in the presence of the U.S. National Guard. The mix of sounds and landscape is contrasting: while the birds, wind, and river can be heard, the cry of a little girl facing the guard can also be heard, with her father beside her, his back bloodied from crossing the barbed wire fence. On the other side, a family with several children tries to negotiate with the U.S. officer to let them pass.

In this installation, videos and images are projected, showing nature and migrants interacting with the U.S. National Guard. Surrounding the viewer are four speakers that create the soundscape of the moment.
